Why would I need Dental Implants?
Dental implants can be used to replace single (or several) missing teeth and secure loose dentures. Dental implants are the closest substitutes to our natural teeth and have been proven to last a very long time.
Does it hurt ?
No! We make sure we give you local anaesthetic (and sometimes sedation) so that the procedure is pain-free.
I have seen very different prices for dental implant treatment. Why is this?
It can be confusing for patients to see such variance in price. Is it important to compare like with like. So you should be asking what quality materials are being used, what level of care and support is being offered, what are the facilities like? At Richmond Hill Dental we use the best materials and support possible. We use a premium dental implant system called Ankylos which has a track record of over 30 years. We have our own in house 3D scanner which helps make treatment safer and more predictable. We are not the cheapest but certainly offer the best value treatment when you compare like with like. We treat patients as if they were family so we do not cut any corners to ensure you receive the best possible care.
Am I too old for implants?
Regarding dental implant treatment, age is just a number! It does not matter how old you but how well you are medically and what sort of medication you take (if any). It can be argued that having dental implants in old age is very beneficial as it allows you to eat a wider variety of foods thus allowing you to consume a more nutritious diet which in turn will keep you healthy.
Are there alternatives to dental implants?
Yes, bridges and dentures can be used to replace missing teeth. However, they do not have all of the benefits that dental implant restorations have. When you attend for your consultation, we will discuss all possible options with you and if needed, we can provide bridges and dentures too.
